Laparoscopic Box Training Course

Course description

​

In its 7th year, this fantastic hands-on laparoscopic training course is aimed at ST1-5 trainees to improve and develop their laparoscopic skills as well as enable them to complete all competencies required by the new curriculum.

The course runs over 4 half-day afternoon sessions (2 - 5pm). Each trainee will be given a laparoscopic training box (Laprotrain) to take home and practice what is taught at the sessions over the duration of the course.

Rated highly by trainees this 4-part course includes over 18 hours of direct teaching from a highly specialised faculty, which includes Advanced Laparoscopy ATSM supervisors.

During Covid19 pandemic, we have adjusted our modules into comprehensive e-learning presentations  and virtual practical skills assessments; working in small dynamic groups.

Lectures on abdominal and pelvic anatomy

Laparoscopic equipment & instruments

Abdominal entry techniques

Correct port placement

Dry lab simulation training

Extensive emphasis on eye-hand coordination exercises

Electrosurgery

Laparoscopic complications



COST £400 + £100 refundable deposit on return of the box trainers
